About Us
Many experiences in my life have changed my ideas and thoughts about bird dogs but none more so than Michelle and I moving back to central Missouri. In 2000, I resigned as the manager of one of the Midwest's premier wingshooting lodges and took a job working for an engineering firm in Columbia, MO. At the time I wasn't sure this move was the right thing for us but little did I know what opportunities it would lead to. Shortly after getting settled down, I decided that my love affair with class shooting dogs shouldn't end. I purchased a Barshoe bred pointer pup and got involved in NBHA and walking shooting dog stakes. It wasn't long before Michelle and I decided to build and develop Wild Covey Kennel. It was our goal to breed, raise and train championship caliber shooting dogs - specifically pointers. Since those early years, many changes have occured. We started a family! Hunter Anthony King was born March 7, 2002 and just recently Cora Michelle King arrived November 26, 2007. Even though we are busier now, it is still our primary goal to produce championship caliber birddogs! With many of the recent additions to our string, the future looks very bright.
Thank you for viewing our website and please feel free to contact us about purchasing birddog or just to swap birddog stories. May all your trips afield be rewarding and safe and hopefully I'll see you at a fieldtrial.
